21st Century Cures Act
Healthcare professionals and informed patients have been highly anticipating two final rules around the 21st Century Cures Act, which will change how providers, insurers, and patients exchange and access health data. On March 9, 2020, these rules were finally published by the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC). While implementation will take place over the course of a few years, the official publication of these rules has started the clock for regulatory deadlines.
We’ve created this timeline resource to help you stay on track as you work to adopt new technologies, promote patient data access, and avoid information blocking.
Note: The dates on this timeline have been updated to reflect adjustments made by the ONC in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
